A controversial tweet that labeled the Zimbabwean President as ‘a selfish and sick man’ was linked to an American who has now being jailed.
The woman who graduated from the New York University moved to Zimbabwe in 2016 and has been residing there ever since was identified as Martha O’Donovan.
She worked at Magamba TV where she was a manager and a social activist; she hosted a comedy show too. A tweet from an account @matigary was traced to her IP address the country’s authorities.

Though she denied being responsible for the tweet and the account still operates while she is still under arrest, the authorities have failed to release her accusing her of trying to subvert and overthrow the government which is a crime that carries a 20-year sentence.
