7 ways to use public toilets without getting infected

As bad as the notion of using a public toilet is, they have become lifesavers, saving people from embarrassing situations.

Below are tips to follow when using a public toilet:

#1. The first thing that hits you when you enter the public toilet is the smell that forces their way into your nasal cavities. To deal with the smell, breathe into the inside of your elbow, which should smell nicer than an unpleasant-smelling restroom.

#2. Flush the toilet before you use it. Flush with the toilet seat closed to minimize your exposure to germs.

#3. Sit on the toilet seat don’t squat or hover. The truth is squatting over a seat does not prevent you from catching any nasties, not sitting properly could actually cause more damage. So, go ahead and sit, once you have thoroughly wiped the seat.

#4. Don’t be too eager to open closed toilets lids. It might be an indication that the closed toilet is messed up, exercise caution in such situations. Also, do not open the lid with your bare hands.

#5. Limit your contact with surfaces, such as door handles and sinks. If possible, try to restrict your contact with surfaces in the bathroom so you do not get bacteria or germs on your hands.

#6. Do well to get a pocket sanitizer to stay clean and safe from infections, not every public toilet will have running water. Immediately you leave the toilet use your hand sanitizer again.

#7. If there’s water in the restroom, wash your hands after using the toilet. if you were using your phone while in the toilet, don’t forget to disinfect it too.
