Ever since she broke up with Alex Rodriguez and ended their engagement, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been linked. Are they rekindling their love?
US Weekly reports that the “Bennifer” (an amalgamation of Ben and Jennifer) ship is about to sail again. They cite an anonymous source close to the couple that claimed that their recent friendship could lead to a rekindled love life.
In 2002 after her second divorce, Lopez and Affleck dated and were engaged until they split in 2004. She moved on with singer Marc Anthony while he moved on with Jennifer Garner (both of them married their new lovers).
Rekindling an old flame seems like a good Hollywood romance plot, but it rarely works in real life. Here are some celebrities that attempted to do this and it ended in tears.
Elon Musk and Talulah Riley
After their relationship of two years ended in a marriage, tech billionaire Musk and English actress Riley must have taught they would stay together until death do them part. However, it turns out that their ‘forever’ was just two years long. They divorced in 2012 but shocked the world by remarrying in 2013. Their new marriage was nearly dissolved in 2014 but Musk withdrew the divorce action. They state married until 2016 when they finally decided that they had had enough of one another.

Eminem and Kim Mathers
Theirs is one of the most popular love stories in the entertainment industry. They started as high school lovers after living together as siblings for some years. Then, they got married in 1999 only to divorce in 2001. Both of them have been vocal about how poorly the other treated them.
But what did they do? They attempted to have a go at it again. They remarried in 2006 but quickly ended things within four months.
Larry King and Alene Akins
Late TV presenter Larry King had also gone down this path by marrying Alene Akins twice. Their first marriage had lasted only one year between 1961 and 1962. The second time, it lasted between 1969 and 1972.
There are numerous other examples but does this mean that the couple should not test to see if it fits? Of course not, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck can be second time lucky.
