This week’s playlist and top 10 songs to check out include, “Calm Down” by Rema, “Omo Ope” by Asake featuring Olamide, “Peru Remix” featuring Ed Sheeran, “Emiliana” by Ckay, and more.
Love is in the air this week and we are back with our weekly curated list of 10 songs that you should be jamming to this week or 10 songs that should be included in your playlist this week. In no particular order, here is our list for the week.
Note: This list is curated based on song performances on streaming platforms.
10. Omo Ope – Asake ft Olamide
2020 “Mr Money” crooner Asake teams up with Olamide for “Omo Ope,” a catchy contender for street pop produced by Magicsticks. The song, which dropped last month, 19 January 2022, is charting on all four major streaming platform charts. On Apple Music, it is currently the second most-streamed song in the country.
9. Peru – Fireboy DML ft Ed Sheeran
“Peru” debuted on to Billboard hot 100 at no.79 last week and marked Fireboy’s first career entry on the chart; this marks another milestone for Afrobeat music in the country. Fireboy DML’s entry on the chart joins Wizkid featuring Tems “Essence,” which reached the top 10, and Ckay’s “Love Nwantiti” as the few Afrobeat songs that have landed on the Billboard Charts. In light of his Billboard debut, the singer rolled out another remix to the track last Friday, which featured American rappers 21 Savage and Blxst. My opinion on this remix?- it’s a hit. Fireboy can continue to remix “Peru” for all he likes because each remix only keeps getting better and better. Listen to all the remixes of Peru below and add them to your playlist. You are welcome, by the way.
8. Loyalty – Ajebo Hustlers
Port Harcourt music duo, Precious and George Dandeson is popularly known as Ajebo Hustlers strike again with “Loyalty”, following the release of their debut 2021 album Kpos Lifestyle, Vol.1. The freestyle track is nothing but a feel-good jam. Listen Below.
7. Do We Have A Problem – Nicki Minaj featuring Lil Baby
“Do We Have A Problem?” marks Nicki Minaj’s twentieth Top 10 hit in the United States. The song debuted at no.2 on Billboard hot 100 following its release on music platforms on 4 February 2022. Rapping alongside Lil Baby, Barbz’s president returns with her usual sick bars and punchlines on the track paying homage to the late American-rapper Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD. The song, produced by Tate Kobang and Papiyerr, is also charting on all major streaming services in the country. Add to your playlist and thank me later. Listen Below.

Taken off his 2022 album titled DRIP SEASON 4EVER, “Pushin P” sees the American rapper holding a spot in the top 10 on Billboard hot 100. 5. Second Sermon (Remix) – Black Sherif featuring Burna Boy
From Ghana, Black Sherif remixes and follows up his 2021 single “First Sermon” with “Second Sermon,” which features Nigerian Grammy-winning act Burna Boy. On the track, Sherif and Burna sing in both Ghanaian and English. It is presently doing numbers across Apple music top 100, Boomplay top 100 Nigeria, Audiomack, and YouTube chart, respectively. Listen Below.
4. Emiliana – Ckay
With the immense success of “Love Nwantiti,” Ckay released “Emiliana,” which gained positive reviews and is believed will soon outdo his aforementioned song in popularity. Ckay had a memorable 2021 after an unauthorized remix of his 2019 song was released. The newly remixed song, by dance/electronic artiste Ax’el, and alternative/indie act, DJ Yo, went and became a massive sound on Tik Tok last year. Now we have “Emiliana,” and we can only imagine the wonders that the song will do. Listen to it Below.
3. Sometimes Remix – T.I Blaze featuring Olamide
Olamide’s latest signee is T.I Blaze, whom he revealed via Instagram on 16 January 2022. Following the revelation, a collaboration was birthed between the two artists, which resulted in the song “Sometimes Remix.” The original song, alongside its remix, is making waves on charts across the country. T.I Blaze follows suit in the street artiste category, and he joins acts like Zinoleesky and Mo Bad as musicians whose music is highly influenced by the street. Listen Below and add to your playlist.
2. With You – Kahid
Back in October 2021, Kahid started posting freestyle clips on his Instagram account tagging the likes of Marvin’s record D’Prince, Olamide, Don Jazzy, Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. However, it was comedian Sidney Talker who signed him onto his new record label (Neville Records) in January. Now, following his record deal, he rolled out a new song titled “With You” produced by Ozedikus. The three-minute long track introduces us to who Kahid is, a young maverick caught between love and his newfound fame. “With You” presently sits at no. 5 on Apple Music’s top 100, while maintaining different spots on other streaming platforms. Listen Below.
1. Calm Down – Rema
Off his highly anticipated debut album titled Raves and Roses due to be out this year, Rema latest music endeavor is a track called “Calm Down,” alongside its visuals which dropped last Friday to a positive audience. The track skyrocketed immediately onto Apple music’s top 100 charts and presently still maintains the no.1 spot. I am currently obsessed with this song and you should too. Listen Below.
