Premier League Roundup: Mo Salah ends goal drought as Liverpool puts three past West Ham United

Mohamed Salah showed a different class as Liverpool continued their journey back to being contenders in the Premier League with a 3-1 win at West Ham on Sunday.

The Egyptian forward ended his six-game goal drought in the league by curling a trademark shot inside the far post on 57 minutes after Liverpool had found it difficult to break through in the final third up to that point.

Salah then grabbed his second of the game to double Liverpool’s advantage with a sublime touch and finish after a counter-attack 11 minutes later.

Dutchman Georginio Wijnaldum then capped off the win five minutes from time to make it 3-0, however, Craig Dawson grabbed a late consolation for the Hammers from a corner, but that’s all it could be, a consolation.

Liverpool are now up to third in the Premier League, four points behind leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand.

West Ham – who saw their six-game winning streak across all competitions come to an end – are now five points behind the Reds in fifth.
