Nigerian celebrities, in their numbers, have taken to their social media accounts to react to the arrest of their colleague Funke Akindele and hubby, JJC Skillz, over their violation of the ongoing lockdown order in the state.
According to the various celebrities, they agree that she had done wrong, but they are pleading that justice is tempered with mercy. They plead that she be fined and set free.
“He who has obeyed this SHUTDOWN 100% should cast the first stone. She has apologized… She has even tweeted that she is broken, if that that doesn’t scream remorse I don’t know what else would,” Uti Nwachukwu writes on his Instagram page.
The news of Funke’s arrest really overwhelmed many Nigerian celebrities. Many of them didn’t think that the issue would be taken this seriously. However, the arrest of the actress and her hubby was to serve as an example to others who intend to violate the laws of the state.
“I know you are a responsible person but not infallible as a human @funkejenifaakindele
I am happy she is allowing the law take its course; that shows she is law-abiding
All this will pass!” Omotunde Adebowale-David who is also known as Adaku in Jenifa diaries writes on her Instagram page.
She continues: “Now I see plenty media in court nothing like social distancing. There is traffic in Lekki who are the people in those cars?
“People are exercising on the road in gbagada,” she adds.
