Sidney Onoriode Esiri, popularly known as Dr. Sid dropped his monumental debut project, “Turning Point” in 2010, April 10th and it was no doubt a turning point in his career.
Dr. Sid’s mother was a successful fashion designer while his father happens to be the legendary actor, Justus Esiri.
Sidney always wanted to be an entertainer and after graduating from the Nigerian Air force Secondary school Ikeja, and going on to study Dentistry and Dental Surgery at the University of Ibadan, his dreams would eventually come to a realization.
In 2007, Dr. Sid made a tough decision to quit his job as a dentist and focus solely on his music, and signing to Don Jazzy’s Mo Hits Records was a real “Turning Point“.
He then started recording his debut album in 2009 after spending the previous years touring. The album was released on the 11th of April 2010 and songs on the project charted across the nation.
He also won a couple of awards courtesy of his debut album, “Turning Point”.
