Nigerian Afropop superstar and leading African record label owner, Mr Eazi, recruits Colombian reggaeton sensation J Balvin to create a smooth and infectious song titled “Lento.”
The track, “Lento” is the third collaboration between the pair as they continue their cross-continental connection. It was released on the 4th of December 2020.
Mr Eazi and J Balvin who are undoubtedly giants in their respective spheres show their musical prowess and diversity together on a production by Killertunes, exchanging lyrics in Spanish, English and Yoruba.
A collaboration by the duo has proven magical in recent times as J Balvin’s “Arcoíris” from J BALVIN’s Colores recently won the Latin Grammy for Best Urban Music Album.
Mr Eazi explains the relationship between them has been more of a brotherhood and it began when Balvin selected Eazi as the opening act on his 2018 North American Tour.
“He’s been bringing me into his world of urbano and reggaeton, and I’ve been introducing him to mine. It’s been a cross-cultural interplay and marriage between what I feel are cousins. It’s in that spirit that we made ‘Lento,’ one of many records we’ve recorded together.”
