Monday Night Football: Diogo Jota seals return to the Molineux with a Liverpool win; Plus PL table

Diogo Jota returned to the Molineux with Liverpool and haunted his former side Wolves with the winner on his first return to the club.

Jota scored the only goal of the match as Liverpool stole a 1-0 victory, however, it was overshadowed by a late injury to Wolves goalie Rui Patricio.

Mohamed Salah was barely clutch in the match and could have made Liverpool’s win more comfortable but his late effort was also ruled out for offside.

Wolves number one choice goalkeeper Patricio sustained a late head injury in the match which delayed proceedings by 15 minutes and he was eventually carried from the field on a stretcher.

Liverpool then had to weather a late rally by Wolves when the game eventually resumed to climb up to sixth in the table after only their second Premier League win in eight games, but the win was put to one side as thoughts turned to Patricio’s wellbeing.
