The results are in and Nigeria artists continue to make waves as they scoop the award category reserved for non-British artists at the 2017 MOBO Awards.
The MOBO Awards is the acronym for ‘Music of Black Origin’, and was first held in 1996. It is an annual event celebrated in the United Kingdom and is considered the British equivalent of the BET Awards and the Soul Train Awards. Any artist of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music can be nominated.
Wizkid not only became the first African artist to be nominated for the best international act he also won the award category. Meanwhile, Davido took home the award for the best African artist. A night of greatest for our artists. Pop the champagne.
