The Mavin Records CEO also disclosed some interesting facts during the interview, including his childhood in the famous Nigerian ghetto Ajegunle in Lagos.

He further spoke about his early days of finding music at the Cherubim and Seraphim Church that his family attended. Jazy bragged that he might be the greatest percussionist to have ever lived.

However, a vital piece of information from the interview was his revelation about being blood relatives with legendary Nigerian artist Daddy Showkey.

During the early exchanges in the interview, Ebuka asked Don Jazzy about the veracity of his upbringing in Ajegunle, and he replied, “My parents [sheltered us from the realities of Ajegunle]. I won’t say my Ajegunle is Daddy Showkey’s Ajegunle, obviously. I don’t know how we’re related, but we’re related… My dad knows how we’re related, he’s my senior bros.”

Ebuka also asked Don Jazzy why he and Showkey never collaborated musically, and he replied saying, “it just hasn’t happened. Now that I have come back to producing, maybe… Why not? Nothing is impossible.”
