Kitchen hack: How to peel hard-boiled eggs with ease

If you have ever lost half your egg while peeling a hard-boiled egg, then this post is for you.

Before boiling an egg, check its age. It has to do with the pH level of the egg. Fresh eggs have a low pH level in the egg white, which causes the white to stick to the shell, while old eggs have a high pH level. The key is to learn how to tell when eggs are fresh.

To further raise the egg’s pH level, add a dash of baking soda to the water when boiling. This method will ensure the shell comes off in big pieces, making the whole process a lot less frustrating.

Another method is to put about an inch of water in a small glass cup, pop the already hard-boiled egg inside, cover the top of the glass with your hand and shake it as hard as you can for 5-10 seconds.

The bouncing and crashing of the egg on the sides of the glass makes tons of small little cracks all over the egg. This will make it easy to remove the shell easily leaving you with a smooth, undamaged egg.
