#Coronavirus: Iroko tv boss recounts how his mum survived the worst

The CEO of Iroko TV, Mr Jason Njoku, has taken to his Twitter handle to recount his mum’s survival from the Coronavirus, which is popularly known as COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Iroko TV boss, his mum exhibited all the symptoms of the COVID-19 virus and was still home. He and his wife had to scream at her to go to the hospital.

My mum has been an @NHSuk healthcare worker for 25 years,”  the grateful iroko tv boss tweets.

“14-16th March she was ill at home with ALL the symptoms of Covid19. Mrs Njoku & I screamed at her to go to the hospital. 17th March my mum went to A&E & was hospitalised.

20-21st March was on the verge of lungs collapsed as she battled with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). They prepared her for ICU & intubation (mortality rate is 40%).

We cried & we prayed through the entire weekend. 6 people in her ward died, aged 20s, 40s, 50s and 60s. She is 73 with diabetes. @NHSuk saved her life.”

Jason Njoku also tweeted that he was able to detect the deterioration in his mum’s health because he spoke with her every day. He also urged other Nigerians to ensure that they speak with their parents a lot this period.

He also stated that his mum had to be tested four times before the result came out positive. According to the Iroko TV boss, many people he respected weren’t taking this seriously.
