“I’m not a player who dives”- Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku found the back of the net twice against Burnley to give United a much-needed win after losing to Brighton and Tottenham.

The big striker could have made it three but he was instead given a yellow card for diving.

The Belgian after the match seemed contended with the result but believes that he should have been awarded a penalty.

He added that he is not the kind of player to dive and was clearly disappointed that a penalty was not given.

The 25-year-old did not conclude without  saying that the gameplay of the team was much better and he was confident that the fans would be pleased with that:

“We have players who are really bad losers.

“All of us are, we never like to lose. Now that we have won, we will switch off. The manager will analyse our last games and he will prepare us for the next games, as we have a difficult month coming up. We will be ready and we will be prepared.”

“I hoped for the hat-trick in the second half and I think I should have got a penalty on the last one,”

 “I don’t dive, I’m not a player who dives.

“But, anyway, I am happy with the two goals, I am happy with the win, the way we played and now we have to continue and bring this consistency to the next games.

“It could have been more and [the result] does not tell the story. We should have scored more in the first half and more in the second half, but, you know what, we played better than we did last season and there was a big improvement in our play. The fans want to see that, they want us to dominate, they want to see us creating chances and the goals will come.”

Lukaku’s miss was not the only major talking point in the match as Rashford was given a straight red card for a confrontation with Phil Bardsley, a former Manchester United player.
