ICYMI, a video went viral recently, which showed Davido in a video with a little girl and a woman, in which the singer was encouraging people to attend COZA’s upcoming event.
As it turns out, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid also recorded similar videos in which they were unknowingly used to advertise the church’s upcoming event.
They have now reacted to the viral videos making the rounds, stating in clear terms that they had nothing to do with it.
Tiwa Savage wrote on her Instagram page that she was “fraudulently approached” to speak about God and the video used for sinister purposes.
Like Davido, she demanded the video be taken down. She wrote:
“It has been brought to my attention that there is a viral video which includes me advertising an upcoming COZA event. I want to state that i have nothing to do with the church and certainly do not endorse their events.
“I’m extremely disappointed that i was fraudulently approached to simply comment on how good God has been to me and it has been wrongly edited to use my image to create an advert to deceive people. COZA this is wrong!! I will be taking action if this is not immediately retracted.”
Wizkid proved once again that he is a man of few but impactful words. He addressed the issue in two tweets, writing:
“Starboy no dey endorse no Pastor or church o! Ogun kill u fake pastors!”
In another tweet, he wrote: “And for dat lady that put a camera in my face! Ogun kiss u and your church.”
Recall that earlier this year, Biodun Fatoyinbo was accused by Busola Dakolo of raping her when she was a teenager. The news caused an uproar on social media as other women came forward to accuse the COZA pastor of molesting them too.
The case was taken to court, but it was thrown out because too much time has passed.
Nevertheless, it appears Twitter users have not forgotten as many of the tweets condemning the acts of tricking public figures into making ads for COZA also bring up the rape accusation.
