His trial, which was scheduled to begin this month, has now been suspended until 2021 because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
This was ordered by Judge Otis Wright and revealed on 23 September. The court trial will now begin on 4 May 2021.
Hushpuppi is being tried on a four-count charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity, money laundering conspiracies and international money laundering.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges but if convicted, he may spend up to 20 years in prison.
Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai alongside his friend, Mr Woodberry on charges of wire fraud.
Mr Woodberry has since been released and the charges against him dismissed with prejudice. Hushpuppi, on the other hand, is still awaiting his trial on his alleged fraud case.
