It is worth noting that some of the slots may already be taken because the organisers started an Early Access Auditions in March, two months ago, for only DSTV and GOTV users.

Speaking about the new season’s auditions, Chief Executive Officer, MultiChoice Nigeria John Ugbe said: “We are strengthening our investment in quality content with another season of BBNaija. BBNaija has become one of the most anticipated TV events across Africa and this season promises to be even bigger and more entertaining”.

How to apply and pass BBNaija season 6 auditions

Last year, Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe went home with the total grand prize of N85 million, but it has gone up to N90 million this year. The virtual audition format that began because of the COVID-19 pandemic continues in this new season as well.

BBNaija organisers claim that 30,000 people showed interest in the 5th season, and expect the number to go up this time around.

They are yet to announce the show’s host, and it will be interesting to see if Ebuka Obi-Uchendu continues as the sole anchor or the new season will usher in a new face. There have been discussions about the TV personality and fashion icon holding a ‘monopoly’ over hosting what is arguably Africa’s biggest reality show. With many suggesting Nancy Isime, another popular Nigerian TV presenter and actress, either replace him or serve as a co-host.

While waiting for the decision that they will reach, many interested participants are asking what tips will help them successfully pass BBNaija season 6 auditions. Here are some of the information we were able to gather online.

How to pass BBNaija season 6 auditions

1. Fill the registration form honestly

Since the organisers will conduct civil, criminal, and other types of background checks on participants, you must fill out the registration form honestly. If found to have withheld or lied about something, you will be automatically disqualified from the selection process.

2. Record clear and interesting videos

The videos you submit to the organisers should clearly show your face, and it is advisable to use artificial lighting when shooting it indoors. Also, share real-life situations, background story, upbringing and career details as briefly as possible in the two-minute video. Insider information says it is better to use a horizontal style instead of a portrait format when shooting.

3. Standout (be different)

This is what a former housemate, Timmy ‘Trickytee’ Sinclair, says about passing the BBNaija auditions. He advises that the panellists find it easier to pick out the standout applicants than sifting through the jumble of look-alike people.

 4. Confidence

Once again from the book of Trickytee, he says that applicants should be ready for either physical or video interviews with the organisers. You should build your confidence and not appear camera-shy or jittery as this can cost you a slot.

5. Be yourself

BBNaija is a ‘reality show’, and people watching are eager to see originality as opposed to people ‘faking it’. To please viewers, organisers select people who are as real as they can be. Yet, avoid being too relaxed and answer in a unique way that makes the panellists remember your answer even after your interview is over.
