And we’re not only talking about the actual message here but also the length, grammar and punctuation as well because they matter. Or they do if you happen to be the son of an unnamed mum who took her son to task over the issue.
The story was shared on Twitter by a user identifying as SIS (@Anjolaa_) who shared the screenshots of a conversation which she said took place between her mum and brother. The thrust of the conversation: birthday message or brevity thereof.
So, this son, Tunmise, sent what appears to be a hurriedly “happy birthday” followed by “long life and prosperity” wishes to his mother who was clearly not impressed. Mum asked son to send a more befitting message to “eulogise your mum.” She also advised him to be “open about his feelings and to share them at every opportunity” reminding him that she has loved him from birth.
Tunmise promptly complied with the request but he forgot the important bits – grammar and punctuation. Mum’s not having that and wouldn’t accept the wishes until he has taken care of those. Hilarious but a lesson for us as well. Mum knows best.
