#Did you know? Nutmeg is extremely poisonous if injected intravenously

Nutmeg is a spice derived from the nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrans).

According to Wiki Books, nutmeg is extremely toxic when injected intravenously (injected into the vein). Excessive consumption of the spice is also dangerous and can lead to death.

Nutmeg contains a narcotic called myristicin. In large doses (a full teaspoon or more of ground nutmeg, or 1-3 whole nutmegs at a time), nutmeg can be poisonous, it can also cause hallucinations, along with nausea, dehydration, and generalised body pain.

Nutmeg is poisonous to dogs. Even small doses can cause tremors, seizures, and central nervous system damage.
