Ebony banks, a teenager from Houston, who battled stage 4 type of cancer passed away on Sunday just four days after meeting with her music idol Beyoncé. The teenager was diagnosed with stage 4 type of a rare type of cancer and had expressed a wish of meeting with the Beyonce, one of her idols. Her friends had started a hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE on Twitter and Instagram, which eventually led to Beyoncé speaking with the teenager last Wednesday on FaceTime.

A candlelight vigil was held for the teen Sunday evening at LeRoy Crump Stadium.

Banks, fondly called Ebob was receiving treatment at the university of Texas’ MD Anderson Cancer Centre. She had wanted to become a paediatric nurse to help others in similar situation and has already been accepted to college. Earlier this month, her school had held a graduation ceremony for her at the Cancer Centre.
