The last time the singer was in the news was a few months back. In December 2020 Omah Lay and another musician from Nigeria were in a situation with policemen in Uganda.
Omah Lay and Tems got arrested together on Sunday, 13 December, alongside their managers for performing at a concert at Ddungu resort in Munyonyo while the country was on lockdown.
The duo were remanded in different prisons till Wednesday, 16 December, following their court arraignment at the Makindye Division court in Kampala, but the intervention of the Nigerian government ensured they were released on Tuesday with charges dropped.
