Nipesey Hussle’s memorial will not be ticketed contrary to reports

The family of Nipsey Hussle has set up a public memorial at Los Angeles’ Staples Center this Thursday for the slain rapper.

Hussle, aged 33, was gunned down by suspect Eric Holder in front of his Los Angeles clothing stores on Sunday, 31st March 2019.

According to some reports, the memorial would be a ticketed event but Hussle’s friend and business partner, Karen Civil, has publicly denied the claims.

Karen sent out a tweet on Saturday disputing rumours of tickets being sold for the event.

I want to officially let @NipseyHussle fans & supporters know there will be NO selling of tickets to his funeral,” she writes. “A lot of incorrect information was released today, please know in the upcoming days and an official statement will be made soon,” the tweet concludes.

The iconic Staples Center has housed Hollywood’s major events for decades, including Michael Jackson’s memorial back in 2009.

Hussle’s death has been mourned by many in the hip hop community after the rapper was killed tragically on Sunday of 31st March 2019. Hundreds showed up for a vigil outside his store on Monday night, which abruptly ended after a loud noise believed by many to be gunshots caused chaos. 19 people were injured.

Police have charged Eric Holder with Hussle’s murder. Attorney Christopher Darden, the former prosecutor in the OJ Simpson trial, is representing Holder.

TMZ is also reporting that Nipsey’s family and the Staples Center has already met to plan for the event. LAPD officials were also present in the meeting to help plan logistics and security.
