The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Megan Markle‘s son, Archie, has had his mother’s name removed from his birth certificate by the Royal house with only her Duchess title included in the document.
On Saturday, 30 January 2021, The Sun claimed that she had “taken the unprecedented action of removing” her first and middle names, Rachel Meghan, from the document so that it included just her title, “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex,” under the “mother” category.
However, On Sunday, 31 January a spokesperson for Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, disputed the report.

“The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials.
“This was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex,” the spokesperson said in a statement to E! News.
In spring 2020, Meghan and Harry’s decision to step back from official royal duties took effect. As part of their exit agreement, the couple agreed to give up their “Royal Highness” titles, just as Diana did when she divorced Harry and William’s father, Prince Charles.
Meghan and Harry moved to Canada months before their royal exit took effect. That summer, they settled in her home state of California, where they bought a home in Montecito, near Santa Barbara.
