After a report that the second case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has been confirmed in Nigeria, the commissioner of health in Lagos state has released the names of wanted persons suspected to be infected with the virus.
According to the commissioner, they are yet to reach two contacts from the 24th of February 2020 Turkish flight.
The two people are ENWELUNTA GODFREY OBUMNORE and SADEEQ ABIODUN SALAMI ( males), who were in the 24th February Turkish flight from Italy. The same flight as the Italian man who was diagnosed to have the infection.
Recall that only a few weeks ago, the index case of the Coronavirus was recorded in an Italian man who returned from Italy, boarding a Turkish Flight.
“Following recent experience from other countries and evident from newly published studies on non-symptomatic infections, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), advised that samples should be taken from all contacts of the index case for testing. It is in this process that these two cases were detected, ” the minister of health states in a press conference.

The commissioner of health, Professor Akin Abayomi took to his official Twitter handle to state that the index case is recovering and he also stated the names of the suspected infected persons that haven’t been reached.
“The index case is doing well. He is still secreting the virus but as soon as he eliminates the virus we will release him
The yet to be reached 2 contacts from the 24th of February, 2020 Turkish flight are; ENWELUNTA GODFREY OBUMNORE and
SADEEQ ABIODUN SALAMI (males),” the commissioner of health for Lagos state writes on his Twitter handle.
He also went ahead to appeal to the public who may have any information about the two persons to reach out to the state.
