Breaking: Nollywood actor Jim Lawson Maduike has passed on

One of Nollywood’s veteran actors, Jim Lawson Maduike has reportedly passed on.

According to reports by PM News, the actor went to sleep on Friday night at around midnight but didn’t wake up on Saturday morning quite tragically. A different report also claims that Maduike complained of body pains at 12pm n Saturday, 9 January before his subsequent tragic demise.

Before his death, Maduike was a famous Nollywood actor, radio broadcaster, writer, voice-over artist, filmmaker and television personality.

The actor is originally from Umunwolave, a small village in Guamo Obire in Nkwere Local Government Area of Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

He completed both his primary and secondary school education and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate in his state of origin.

Jim Lawson Maduike worked for FRCN for fourteen years before quitting the job. He joined FRCN as a radio broadcaster in 1980 and resigned the job in 1994. After resigning from FRCN, he moved to Ray Power FM and became one of the pioneers of the radio station now trending in Nigeria.

He resigned from Ray Power after working for five years and moved to Minaj FM, where he worked for three years before resigning in the early 2000s. He worked as a radio broadcaster for twenty one years before venturing into acting.

Some of Jim Lawson’s most notable movies include “Save The Prince, “Royal Madness” and “The Great Hunter.”

Jim Lawson Maduike in the course of his career as an actor was nominated for a host of awards some of which includes Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award and Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the Best of Nollywood Awards.

He joined the Nollywood movie industry in 2004 and has since featured in more than 150 movies. A few months ago, Nollywood also mourned the death of actress Louisa Nwobodo. She was 78 years old. Louisa Nwobodo had featured in many Nigerian epic movies like Johnbull and RoseKate.

She also starred in Indemnity (2006), Never Say Goodbye (2003) and Made in Cambridge (2006). Louisa died after collapsing on Sunday in her car at St. Mulumbas Catholic Church, New Haven, Enugu.

Although she was rushed to the hospital, she was confirmed dead by doctors on arrival.
