Boxing: Floyd Mayweather announces exhibition fight with YouTube star Logan Paul

Floyd Mayweather has revealed plans to fight YouTube star Logan Paul in a “special exhibition” fight in February 2021.

Floyd Mayweather, whose last official fight was a 10th-round victory over MMA fighter Conor McGregor in one of the richest bouts in boxing history in 2017, ended his career unbeaten after 50 bouts.

Logan Paul, 25, on the other hand, with over 22 million subscribers on YouTube, has only one professional fight to his name. A fight in November 2019 against fellow British YouTuber KSI.

A fight has been on the cards for quite some time now, especially with Paul, constantly sending for compatriot Mayweather on numerous occasions, with the pair trading insults on social media.

Last week, Jake, a famous influencer and younger brother to Logan knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson in a bout which was a part of the Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr’s exhibition event in Los Angeles, California.

Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul is scheduled for February 20th in a bout touted to draw one of the highest pay-per-view audiences in the history of boxing.

In December 2018, against another opponent beyond the traditional realms of boxing, Mayweather defeated Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in a fight reportedly worth $9 million, lasting only 140 seconds.
