Announcement: Call For Entries For The Eriata Oribhabor Poetry Prize (EOPP) 2017.

The announcement for the poetry prize was made on Words Rhymes & Rhythm (WRR) website who works in conjunction with Something for Everybody Ventures (SFEV). The prize is open to every Nigerian living within or outside the country.

The theme for this sixth edition is: Unity, Truth, Justice, Change and Sustainable Development in society (i.e. Nigerian society).

The prizes to be won are:

First- N25,000 and books.

Second- N15,000 and books.

Third- N10,000 and books.

All the prizes are given by Eriata Oribhabor and every poet on the shortlist of 10 will be given a SFEV certificate.

The following guidelines should be followed:

1. Contestants are invited to submit a maximum of two (2) poems on the above theme.
2. All submissions should be made via email as BODY of mail to submissions@wrr.ng with the subject: ‘ERIATA ORIBHABOR POETRY PRIZE 2017’. Note that ATTACHMENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED.
3. All entries must be the original work of the poet submitting it.
4. There’s no limit to the number lines of any poem.
5. Authors must add their full names and a biography (100 words maximum) in the body of the e-mail inclusive of full name, email address, and phone number(s).
6. Poems containing profanity or vulgarity will be disqualified.

The selected judges are to make decisions on the poem and access them based on artistic quality and creativity and the contestants will have no correspondence with judges regarding their judgments. Entries are free and though the authors retain copyrights, all submitted poems gives the organizers the right to publish them in a future anthology.
