Award-winning artiste Burna Boy has had another moment to relive his monumental Grammy win as he shares a picture of his plaque on his Instagram page on Thursday. Burna Boy won the highly coveted Grammy award in March when his Twice as Tall album won Best Global Music Album at the 2020 Grammy.
The Grammys described Burna Boy’s Twice As Tall as “a masterclass in the vibe and hustle that have made Burna Boy an international musical force”.

Showing off his plaque on Instagram, Burna Boy revealed that his parents prayed for excellent children instead of houses and cars. He further proudly shared how his sister graduated with a first-class degree in finance while his other siblings with distinction in engineering. Burna Boy thanked God for his family’s achievements stating that he is a product of sacrifice.
Burna Boy is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu. He is one of Africa’s most famous and successful artists.
In 2012, he rose to prominence with the release of “Like to Party,” the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E. (2013). Burna Boy signed with Bad Habit/Atlantic Records in the United States and Warner Music Group worldwide in 2017. Outside, his third studio album, marked his major-label debut.
In 2019, he was named an Apple Music Up Next artist and won Best International Act at the 2019 BET Awards. African Giant, his fourth studio album, was released in July 2019 and won Album of the Year at the 2019 All Africa Music Awards as well as Best World Music Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. At the 2020 VGMAs, he was named African Artist of the Year.
His album Twice as Tall was nominated for the same category at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2020, making him the first Nigerian to receive back-to-back nominations. At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards in 2021, he won the award for Best World Music Album.
