Bayern Munich has absolutely no regard and respect for anyone in football as they continue their quest for European dominance in an 8-2 humiliation of Spanish giants Barcelona.
The energetic, ruthless, and relentless German side took Barcelona to the cleaners as pressure heaps on Quique Setien after one of the heaviest defeats in Barcelona’s history while Bayern seems to be the team to beat in the Champions League.
Bayern Munich scored four times in either half as Barcelona looked on as bystanders, and if the referee added more time, it could only mean Bayern would not stop scoring as Barcelona looked shambolic throughout.

The Bavarians went about their business very early on during the game, and inside the first four minutes, through Thomas Muller following a one-two with Robert Lewandowski but Barcelona was level 3 minutes later as David Alaba wildly sliced a Jordi Alba cross into his own net to restore parity.
Barcelona flattered to deceive as they ran through the Bayern defence only for Suarez to be denied by Manuel Neuer while Messi hit the post with a curling cross through a packed box shortly afterward.
That was all the courtesy Bayern would allow the Spanish giants as the following 22 minutes took the game away from Barca. Ivan Perisic smashed in Bayern’s second before Serge Gnabry finished off a delightful ball over the top from Leon Goretzka, and Muller poked in his second at the near post.
Barcelona came into the second half looking like a rejuvenated team that’s on course to pull a comeback at the very least, as a neat turn and finish from Suarez reduced the deficit for a short while before Bayern took the reins once again.
Joshua Kimmich’s side-foot finish following some stunning skill and speed, and excellent delivery from Alphonso Davies made the scoreline 5-2 in favour of Bayern Munich.
Robert Lewandowski registered himself as well when he headed his 14th Champions League goal in just eight games before Philippe Coutinho was introduced to rub salt in Barca’s deep wounds. The on loan player from the Spanish side – netted a seventh and eighth via close-range finishes after coming off the bench.
Bayern remain the most decorated side left in the competition, having won the European Cup/Champions League on five occasions, and look comfortably the strongest left in this season’s tournament.
Bayern will face either Manchester City or Lyon – who play on Saturday evening – in the Champions League semi-final on August 19.
