Here’s is some catching up to do with regard to Super Eagles’ draw in the forthcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) holding in Cairo later this year.
If you’re like us and missed out on the news when it initially broke, not to worry too much, sometimes stuff gets in the way and one can’t keep up in real time.
As it were, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were drawn in Group B alongside Guinea, Madagascar, Burundi. The Eagle’s official Twitter account made the announcement, alongside an image of the rest of the groups playing in the tournament.
“We have been drawn in Group B alongside Guinea, Madagascar and Burundi,” the tweet says.
“Our opening game will be against Burundi.”
With that draw, we think the Super Eagles have a very pretty decent chance of qualifying from their group given the pedigree of the other teams. But hey, this is football, upsets are not ruled out but this emerging from this group is the Super Eagles’ to lose.
Breaking.
