Man City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that five of his players will miss the match against Chelsea because they tested positive for COVID-19.
After their match against Everton was cancelled just before its scheduled kickoff, Man City has revealed that it will be missing five players against Chelsea.
Kyle Walker, Gabriel Jesus, three unnamed players and two staff members all tested positive for COVID-19, the club revealed. The game may still go on if there is no announcement before its kickoff.
During a press conference, Pep Guardiola said that the club would not reveal the names of the three other players.

“We have to respect the privacy of the players,” Guardiola said, “maybe you will see the line-ups and three important players not there, so you will know exactly but I’m not allowed to tell you.”
Chelsea on the other hand will have a strong squad available to meet Man City on Sunday 3 January 2021. Frank Lampard has assured fans of the London club that the match will likely go on.
“At the moment the game is on,” Lampard said. He also revealed that while Chelsea had some positive COVID-19 test, it was not among the players.
