Manchester City edged past Brighton thanks to a goal from Phil Foden while Fulham held Tottenham to a 1-1 draw.
Manchester City goes third
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City seem to have regained their flowing form as a Phil Foden first half strike sees the Cityzen edge a win over Brighton. Man City came off the back of six consecutive victories in all competitions to beat Brighton on Wednesday.
Just before the stroke of halftime, English youngster Phil Foden put the Cityzens ahead from a Kevin De Bruyne pass. City enjoyed good spells but could not get another goal.
They came closest in the additional time after De Bruyne was fouled in the penalty box. However, Raheem Sterling failed to convert from the spot.

The 1-0 win was enough for City to climb into third with one point behind Liverpool and four behind new table-toppers Manchester United. Man City has one game in hand and will be looking to capitalise on the floating three points soon.

After their poor start to the season, they are unbeaten in 14 games in all competition since losing to Tottenham in November 2020.
Fulham holds Tottenham
Jose Mourinho boys could not find a way past Fulham on Wednesday night and had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Tottenham had gotten off to a flying start after Harry Kane’s flying header put them in front.
Fulham on the other hand did not back down and kept fighting to take something from the game. It was an even game all through and the visitors got a deserved equaliser in the 74th minute via a Cavaleiro goal.
Ademola Lookman also got praise for setting up Fulham’s equaliser to derail Tottenham’s title hopes. Reguilon thought he had put Tottenham back ahead in the 89th minute but the linesman had his flag up for offside.
