Premier League giant Manchester United has completed the signing of 18-year-old wonder kid Amad Diallo from Atlanta after following the player’s progress for a while.
Diallo will wear the number 19 jersey in the United’s red and will look to prove his mettle to break into the first team.
Certain football experts, however, have urged Manchester United fans to be patient with youngster even though the transfer deal has been in the works for a while.
United and Italian side Atalanta agreed to the deal in the summer of 2020. It took some time before Diallo completed medicals, got his work permit and agreed to personal terms.
Amad Diallo joins Manchester United on a transfer fee of around £18m – but add ons could see the deal reach £38m. The Ivory Coast youngster signed a contract till the end of June 2025, with the option of an extra year.
Speaking on the signing, fellow Ivorian and Manchester United player Eric Bailly said; “I know Amad [Diallo]. I speak with him. He’s a young player with good talents but we know it is important to keep calm with any new guys. I think he will do well but it important to keep calm with him.”

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also said: “As a club, we have followed Amad for a number of years and having watched him myself, I believe he is one of the most exciting young prospects in the game.”

While the welcome has been warm, there is a tendency to expert ‘too much’ or ‘instant impact’. This is why experts, as well as some fans, have encouraged Manchester United’s fan base to be patient with the new signing.
Amad Diallo will wear the number 19 jersey that Marcos Rashford just dropped and would be deployed primarily as a right winger. The youngster is already anticipating his debut. He took to his Twitter page to say:
