Eddie Murphy is coming back to the big screens with a bang! As Rudy Ray Moore in Netflix’s Rudy Ray Moore’s biopic, Dolomite Is My Name.
While we’ve known that The Coming To America actor is starring in Netflix’s commissioned Craig Brewer’s Dolemite Is My Name, alongside Wesley Snipe, we are now only just getting to see the trailer.
Eddie Murphy plays the character of Rudy Ray Moore, sometimes called the Godfather of Rap, thanks to his comedy where he recited raunchy sexually explicate rhymes. Moore had his breakthrough in the 1970s when his underground records became popular. Moore used the proceeds from his underground records to produce and star in Dolomite, a notorious blaxploitation film that became an underground sensation.
Snipes will portray D’Urville Martin, an arrogant actor and alcoholic who ends up directing Dolomite. Also starring in the film are Keegan-Michael Key, T.I., Chris Rock, Snoop Dogg, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and more.
