A Star in the making was born on Friday, March 22, 2019, when Nigerian super-producer, Don Jazzy, who is notorious for recruiting the biggest talents announced the signing of another Mavin. T
he new recruit being the 18-year-old Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema.
Don Jazzy claimed Rema would be a dominant force and we are getting to see that in fruition already.
On Monday, 25 March 2019, Rema who signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavins records, released the Rema, an EP, which contains four amazing and well-produced songs that basically appeal to all sub-demographics of mainstream Nigerian music and showcases his obvious talent.
While some of the songs on the EP might not be lyrically informative, one can vividly understand that Rema is experimenting with his sound and has to make something tantalising to announce himself to the market. Something that he nailed.

Track one, titled Iron Man made it to Obama’s summer playlist of 2019. This unarguably translates to Rema already having his best introduction into the music industry. He is the only Nigerian artiste whose song has been recommended by the US president.
