The Rivers-state beauty competed in and won the Miss Nigeria pageant on 11 October 2019. By winning, she qualified for a spot at the 2019 Miss World, where she represented Nigeria tremendously well.
In the leadup to the main event which was held at the ExCel London, London UK, the 111 contestants competed in a series of fast track events around London.
During the fast track events, Nyekachi was a Miss World top 10 model finalist, made second place at the Miss World sports competition, emerged a finalist for the Miss World talent auditions, was the group 11 winner of the head to head challenge.
In addition to all that, she was also a head to head challenge finalist and she secured a spot in the top ten Beauty With a Purpose (which is the highest recognition a contestant can achieve in Miss World).

At the man event on 14 December, the 21-year-old was announced the winner of the Miss World Top Model, made it to the top five overall at the pageant and was announced as the 2019 Miss World Africa.
