Rumour has it that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are back together thanks to George Clooney but really?

According to New Idea magazine, George Clooney, a long time friend of the duo not only confirmed the rumours but brought them back together. Clooney’s friendship with Brad Pitt all but crumbled after ex-wife Angelina Jolie allegedly banned them from seeing each other during their tumultuous marriage, but it appears the Ocean’s Eleven stars have had the final laugh.

And it seems George didn’t hold back in telling dinner guests just how happy he is that Brad Pitt and Jennnifer have reunited or so the magazine claims.

Clooney reportedly old friends he’s responsible for encouraging Brad to reignite his romance with former wife Jennifer Aniston, who George has always had a close friendship with.

He was said to have been spotted with Pitt for the first time in more than five years – marking a new chapter in their friendship. The pair was said to have enjoyed dinner with other Hollywood heavyweights including Sean Penn, Bradley Cooper and Laura Dern in LA, with George even using Jennifer Aniston’s private bodyguard.

However, rumour busting website, Gossip Cop, rated the accuracy of the New Idea report zero calling it a “false narrative.”

According to Gossip Cop, “while Pitt did have dinner with Penn, Cooper and Dern earlier this month, Clooney was not a part of the get-together. And the reason for the hangout had nothing to do with Pitt reconnecting with Clooney, who, again, was not present. In actuality, the stars stepped out for Penn’s book party.

We are more inclined to believe Gossip Cop than New Idea given the precedence of both magazines. Moreover, a close source told People magazine that the likelihood of the ex-couple coming back together is almost non-existence as they have each crafted a different life since their divorce.
