Rihanna proves she’s the queen of shade with this Instagram video teasing her ninth album

The singer, whose last album was 2016’s Anti took to Instagram to tease her upcoming album. Fans have taken to calling it R9- a reference to the fact that it’s her ninth studio album.

She shared a video of a dog bopping its head to the song, Jump Around by House of Pain with the caption, “update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it.”

Fans were excited to know that the album is finished and the post garnered over two million likes in the first six hours.

Since 2016’s Anti, Rihanna has turned her attention away from music and to her other projects – her clothing line, beauty line, among others.

However, earlier this year, she promised fans an album this year. However, she has released The Rihanna Book, something fans have been speculating she may present as the album she meant for this year.

On the album, she said: “I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album.”

“It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae but you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks,” she said.

“Reggae always feels right to me,” she added. “It’s in my blood. It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture, or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves. It’s always the same high.

Even though I’ve explored other genres of music, it was time to go back to something that I haven’t really homed in on completely for a body of work.”
