BBNaija 2019 was very good to Mercy – she won the show, and, along with her very loyal Mercenaries, she also gained celebrity fans in the form of Dencia, Anita Joseph and Cubana Chief Priest.
The two became chummy upon Mercy’s exit from the Big brother Naija house after she won the show.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Paschal Chubuike Okechukwu more or less acted like her manager, organizing parties for her and securing deals for her.
We speculate that things turned sour after Mercy’s alleged fake deal with Moet and Chandon, which was organized by Cubana Chief priest.
Mercy had excitedly announced that she signed a deal with the international liquor brand, but several people doubted the authenticity of her news.
All was cleared up, however, when a Moet and Chandon representative reportedly cleared the air, sharing that Moet and Chandon did not sign Mercy as their brand ambassador.
Shortly after, Mercy signed an official management deal with Upfront and Personal Management company. The deal must have infuriated Cubana, because he unfollowed Mercy on social media.
Later, he took to shading her. When asked why she would not be attending his show, he implied that she could not afford a table worth 5 million Naira.
Now, though, all things seem to have been forgotten as Cubana has shared a super friendly message to mercy on Instagram.
“Iwe Nwanne Anaghi Eru Na Okpukpu @official_mercyeke My Baby Sister For Life, Congrats On @mnm_luxury On 26th Dec. At Egbu #MyOwerri M Buying The Whole Shop For Your People For Christmas ? Make Stocks Available #CubanaChiefPriest #CelebrityBarMan,” he wrote on Instagram.
For non-Igbo speaking audiences, Iwe Nwanne Anaghi Eru Na Okpukpu translates to “you cannot be too angry at family.”
While we’re celebrating this reunion, we can’t help but wonder what, if any connection this has to do with Mercy and Ike unfollowing each other on Instagram.
It could be nothing, but as social media users pointed out, Ike has been flaunting his friendship with Tacha and the two are famously known to be at loggerheads.
