Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem who was allegedly arrested for beating up his landlord has cleared the air concerning the incidence during an interview on TVC E-Splash show.
The rapper also had other things to say, one of which concerns our very own African Giant, Burna Boy.
Recall that the rapper was reportedly arrested for physically assaulting his landlord, Oladipo Abimbola, over an unpaid N535,000 accumulated electricity bill. The incident was said to have taken place on 3rd January 2020, at Valley View Estate, Ikeja, Lagos state.
Well, while on the TVC E-Splash show, the rapper debunked that. According to him, “I didn’t beat him. If I beat am, him for still deh hospital, but there was nothing like beating. I’m a gentleman and I’m a true Nigerian”.
The rapper said this when one of the interviewers asked him “if there was really a beating.”
“I abide by the rules and regulations but if you harass my wife or my family, or you don’t call me on the phone and you come to knock on my door when I’m not around, then wahala go deh”, Eedris says.
He also stated that he was chatting with someone online who told him that he heard that Eedris has been arrested and he got surprised. He stated that the landlord is a very good friend of his but he went to warn his landlord to stay away from his privacy. He also claimed that the issue has been resolved.
The interviewers went further to ask him other questions one of which was about Burna Boy calling himself the best musician since Fela.
“Burna Boy needs to apologise, at least Fela made it happen for you,” opines Eedris, the singer behind the ageless Mr Lecturer. He continues: “You stole from a lot of Fela songs to become who you are, and you stole from Afrobeats to become who you are. Even though Fela songs are strictly about messages that add value to the lives of people. What is your song all about?”
