African’s richest man per Forbes has redeemed a pledge to donate $50,000 dollars for every goal the Super Eagles scored against the Desert Warriors of Algeria at the recently concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019)
Well, the Eagles got one passed the Warriors setting them up for $50,000, but they lost the match by 2-1.
Dangote has now made good his promise per a Twitter message on the official Super Eagles Account.
“Business tycoon Aliko Dangote today in Lagos redeemed his pledge of $50,000 to the @NGSuperEagles
for their one against Algeria in AFCON 2019 semi-final,” reads the tweet. “Money was presented by Olakunle Alake, GMD of Dangote Group accompanied by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Corp. Comm. Officer,” the tweet adds.

The richest man in Africa also promised to continue to support the development of sports in Nigeria. The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) was represented at the cheque presentation by Super Eagles Equipment Manager Chidi Ngoka, Team Administrator, Dayo Achor Enebi and midfielder John Ogu.
