While fans speculated over whether Craig would return or not, the 50-year-old actor confirmed the movie will be his last as 007 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Director, Danny Boyle schedule is the major cause of the pushback. James Bond 25 seems to clash with his other projects.
According to Variety, Universal Studios have set 13 September 2019 as the release date for the Richard Curtis romantic comedy he’s shooting this summer with Lily James.
Danny Boyle is working on a Richard Curtis rom-com which may delay Bond 25 into 2020. This release date is two months before Bond 25 is set to hit cinemas, sparking speculation the film will be pushed back into 2020.
Interestingly MGM is not ready to confirm Boyle as Bond 25’s director, although it appears it’s all but a done deal since he’s already working on the movie and hopes to shoot at the end of the year after wrapping on his comedy.
However, presumably due to this other commitment, it looks Bond 25 will be pushed back into 2020.
