The hospital spans over 12,000 feet and was designed for sick, old and injured Elephants. It is equipped with wireless digital X-Ray, thermal imaging, ultrasonography, tranquilization devices, and quarantine facilities, according to Reuters.
The hospital has been generating a lot of buzz and attracting both local and international tourists.
Elephants are culturally , religiously and environmentally important to India, according to a report by the World Wildlife Fund. Unfortunately, their populations is dwindling due to ill treatment by handlers, falling prey to poachers or losing their homes to human development.
Congratulations to @Wildlifesos for inaugurating India’s first Elephant Hospital specially designed to treat injured, sick or geriatric elephants through which they will be able to provide the best emergency services, long term care & love to the elephants who need us!

I'm trumpeting with happiness!
India's first hospital for elephants, run by a non-governmental organization, opened in the northern town of Mathura.
The world is a better place because of Nonprofits and NGOs. Give generously to them.https://t.co/IskCkHyoHJ pic.twitter.com/GoDPNR9G2X
