Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh was at the forefront of a women’s protest against rape, which took place this morning at the Apo High Court, Abuja.
The actress was pictured with a banner which reads:
“Available evidence against Idris Ebilome Abound. The law should take its course on (sic) the rapist
“#JUSTICEFORKHLOE”

The protesters are demanding justice for a then four-year-old-girl, Khloe, who was ostensibly raped by one Idris Ibilome in 2016.
According to reports, the accused paedophile is yet to be convicted. Also, a post on Instagram by Tonto Dikeh regarding the matter says the accused was in Kuje Prison and was scheduled to be released today.

Of course, the allegation has elicited a huge outcry on social media especially among women and mothers who condemned the alleged rape by Ibilome. In addition, many people have taken an issue with what they perceived as the slow actions of the law enforcement agencies in bringing justice to the little girl and some sort of closure to her family. Some non-governmental organisations are also lending their voices to not only the particular #JusticeForKhloe campaign but also on the prevalence of sexual abuse against children, young adults and women especially in general.
Meanwhile, the case is now adjourned until 3rd October to allow both prosecutor and defendant to tender more evidence, according to an update shared on Instagram by the actress.
“I am so proud of us all,” writes Tonto Dikeh. “KHLOE’S case was adjourned to October 3rd for both the prosecutor and defendant to tender more evidence, however, Idris goes back to prison at the moment!” The mother of one adds.
The mother of one ends her post with the campaign’s hashtag, “#JUSTICEFORKHLOE”.
