1. Lupin Part 2 (Season 2)

Follow the adventures of gentleman thief Assane Diop (Arsène Lupin) on his journey to avenge his father for the injustice that the wealthy have done him. You can catch up on the past episodes of its widely watched Netflix series.

It has received praise for its intelligent plot, gripping cuts, which add to its suspense, and the performance of lead actor Omar Sy.

2. The Misfits

The first thing that catches the eye is the cast of this American heist film. With Pierce Brosnan, Nick Cannon, Jamie Chung, Tim Roth, and Hermoine Corfield coming together, it is already enticing to see it.

According to its premise, Brosnan (Richard Pace) and his ‘band’ finds themselves in a complicated gold heist. Supercharged cars, cons, and explosions feature in this memorable action outing. “The Misfits” is screening in cinemas.

3. Loki

After more than a decade of playing Loki in several MCU films, Tom Hiddleston gets an entire TV series about his fictional character. Currently streaming on Disney+, the first episode is already available for your viewing pleasure. Viewers are giving it positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.

4. Peter Rabbit 2

“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” is the sequel to 2018’s “Peter Rabbit,” a 3D live-action/computer-animated adventure comedy film. The story focuses on Peter’s conundrum when he realises that he has been turned into a villain to make his story more marketable. You can watch it in cinemas near you.

5. Sweet Tooth

This is one for fantasy lovers, and it is based on the book “Sweet Tooth” by Jeff Lemire. The Netflix series adaptation follows the emergence of the mysterious emergence of hybrid babies born part human, part animal, after ‘The Great Crumble’ wreaked havoc on the world.

Hiding from humans who hunt his kind, Gus, a deer-boy, befriends a wandering loner named Jepperd. Together, they go on an adventure, seeking answers and home. You can watch it on Netflix now.

6. Infinite

Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor star in this science fiction action film adapted from D. Eric Maikranz’s 2009 novel “The Reincarnationist Papers”. Toby Jones, Dylan O’Brien, Sophie Cookson, Rupert Friend, and Jason Mantzoukas are also part of the cast.

The film features impressive action and fight sequences and has gotten mixed reviews. “Infinite” is streaming exclusively on Paramount+.

7. 12 Mighty Orphans

Here is one for sports fans, “12 Mighty Orphans” is based on the non-fiction book “Twelve Mighty Orphans: The Inspiring True Story of the Mighty Mites Who Ruled Texas Football” by Jim Dent.

The film is about the grass-to-grace story of the football team of a Fort Worth orphanage. They rose during the Great Depression, and their diehard spirit saw them go from playing without shoes in their neighbourhood to playing in the Texas state championships.

From 11 June 2021, it will be released in a limited capacity before a wide expansion the following weekend. If you are in the US, you may have no trouble finding cinemas that are screening it. Meanwhile, people in other locations may have to wait for its international distribution.

8. In the Heights

The film adaptation of the stage musical “In the Heights” finally hits cinemas this weekend. If you can’t trouble yourself with an outing, you can opt to watch it on HBO Max.

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who created the original play, has a cameo role along with Christopher Jackson. Singer Marc Anthony is also part of the cast. In lead roles are Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins, Leslie Nina, and Melissa Barrera.

9. Queen Bees

For rib-cracking comedy, you will need to see “Queen Bees” this weekend. Oscar-winning actress Ellen Burstyn leads this comedy film, which features a bunch of lusty widows and ‘mean girls’ that she encounters when she temporarily moves into a retirement community.

Hollywood icons like James Caan, Ann-Margret, Christopher Lloyd, Loretta Devine, and Jane Curtin also star in this film. You can watch it from the comfort of your home if you stay in the US or Canada. It is also showing in select cinemas.
