Castlevania is topping the Netflix weekend most-watched list in Nigeria because of the unexpected ending of its fourth season. This is also why there have been queries about whether there will be Castlevania Season 5.
First, if you have not been following the series, Castlevania is an adult animated series based on the Japanese video game series of the same name. Pro Evolution Soccer makers Konami created the original game material in 1989.
The series is developed by producer and YouTuber Adi Shankar and follows Trevor Belmont, Alucard and Sypha Belnades as they try to save the fictional nation of Wallachia from Dracula and his minions.
The Hobbit trilogy alumni Richard Armitage and Graham McTavish act as voice actors for Trevor Belmont and Vlad Dracula ?epe?, respectively. Theo James, Adetokumboh M’Cormack, Tony Amendola, and Emily Swallow are also part of voice actors.
Popularity is not a new thing for the series. When it premiered in 2017, Parrot Analytics said it was the most popular digital original series. It had almost 30 million worldwide views by the release of its second season. Goomba Stomp called it one of the most successful original animated shows on Netflix.
Castlevania Season 4 is the series last outing. As expected, the creators gave viewers a final boss fight-kind-of scene in the final episode. Even adding a post-credit scene. Yet, it also left them with several unanswered questions. No doubt, many are going back to rewatch scenes or even whole episodes in hope of seeing something they missed. Nigerian fans have also been bitten by the anime bug.
Netflix is likely getting lots of clicks on the animated series, and we can’t wait for the company’s metric report on how Castlevania fared commercially.
