The first reactions and reviews to Netflix “The Woman in the Window” film are out, and it seems the film failed to impress despite it being relatable.
You know a film is bad when you try to search for it on Twitter and the word “bad” is actually suggested to go along with it. Yeah, that is how terrible people think the film is on their first watch.
With the cast of Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthonie Mackie, Wyatt Russel, and others, one would expect this film to be good, if not great. Even the first half of it was already giving YouTuber Bailey Sarian bad vibes.

Rendy Jones, a writer and critic, also had some scathing words for the film.
Oh THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW embargo is up?
Um……I liked it? Like it’s a complete crazy mess that is so campy and over the top and yet I had so much trashy fun with it. The third act is so batshit insane and hysterical that I had no other choice but to applause. Review soon. pic.twitter.com/ocGAhxC4sZ

Of course, there are others who think that “The Woman in the Window” was a good film and are bold enough to recommend it. Yet, the overwhelming majority say that it was a badly done film.
This should be expected because it was based on a novel by A. J. Finn, which got positive reviews. It also stayed at number one for two weeks on the New York Times bestsellers’ list. According to the totally made-up legend, “a film adapted from a good book will never be good”.
Given that many have been living the life of a recluse due to the pandemic, they could relate to Anna Fox’s agoraphobia. Here is what US Weekly writer Wendi Aarons had to say:
I’m watching ”Woman in the Window” on @netflix where Amy Adams doesn’t leave her apartment, drinks wine nonstop, wears a bathrobe, spies on neighbors, digs up dirt via Facebook & lives next-door to a psycho. Now I’m upset that they clearly optioned my life story & didn’t pay me.

Film reviews are usually based on perspective, and it will be wise not to let the negative takes stop you from seeing this film on Netflix.
