The Israeli-born actress had tried expressing herself concerning the Israeli-Pakistani war ongoing in the Middle East. She opened her statement by saying her country, Israel, is at war and deserves to live as a free and safe nation. She also said the same of its neighbours, the Palestinians.
However, her statement seems to have pissed off many Twitter users because they started bombarding her with accusations of supporting ethnic cleansing and genocide. One user even called her a war criminal because of her mandatory two-year service with the Israeli Defense Forces.
Amidst the backlashes, some other users see nothing wrong with her statement because she tried to be as diplomatic as possible. Yet, the criticisms are overwhelming and have not stopped despite Gal Gadot closing off her comment section.
