Reminisce, who never believed he was going to achieve all the success he has gotten over the years, has been acclimatising to new changes over the past few months.
The rapper revealed he hasn’t smoked since the 19th of March 2020 when the COVID-19 lockdown hit and that has been his longest spell of abstinence in 18 years. This also coincides with an 11-month spell away from alcohol – which he stopped taking in August 2019, following his returned from Hajj.
He has now released the 6-track EP he promised, “Vibes and Insha Allah”, produced by Sarz, TMXO, Krizbeatz, Aivert and LooneyTunes.
The EP was meant to be titled, 30+ Vibes – an ode to fun adult contemporary hip-hop but was eventually named “Vibes and Insha Allah. Inspired by his criticism of Liverpool FC’s style which he calls, “Cross and Insha Allah”.
The opening track to the EP featured his daughter who walked in on him recording in his home and he sought to engage them. The song talks about the struggles of creating through and dealing with fatherhood.
He was able to get Tiwa Savage and Fireboy to feature on the EP but logistics reasons impeded Wizkid’s involvement on the project. Alaga Ibile has also promised to release two more EPs before the year comes to an end. Watch out.
