Nigerian singer, producer, and boss at DMW, David ‘Davido’ Adeleke, officially dropped his highly anticipated third studio project, which he called “A Better Time while”, released on the 13th of November 2020 across all platforms.
The 27-year-old music star revealed that he hadn’t plan on recording an album in 2020 but went on to executive produce the entire album and indeed and without a doubt “A Better Time”.
Davido’s original plans involved touring the world but the COVID-19 pandemic had other plans, unfortunately:
“The pandemic had a lot to do with it because I was on tour, which I had to stop — If I was on tour, I’m not sure I would’ve had time to really record but being in Lagos, at home, I was recording and recording so many songs and it ended up being really good. It took about two or three months but when I first started recording it, I had no plan, I just wanted to have fun with it.”
Davido explained it was inspired by Africa’s ethos while putting a lot of effort into the album’s overall tone and message: “We (African people) always like to celebrate and A Better Time is that outlet to be free, be happy and hopeful for a better future.”
The new album “A Better Time” contains 17 tracks and features heavyweights from the American music scene and Africa as well. The list includes Nicki Minaj, Nas, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Hit-Boy, Tiwa Savage, Mayorkun, Bella Shmurda, CKay, Sho Madjozi, Mugeez and Sauti Sol.
